i haven't checked the fuel lines at all. i doubt it would be possible to ship them in one go. apparently the boxes audi use to package the fuel lines are specialist and very very long.Last edited by S2TORNADO; 13 January 2013, 12:25.Comment

I'm surprised you haven't got 100 spare wheels to roll it round on.
For the fuel lines I suggest replace the full length in cupronickel. Or braided hoseComment

a badly cut hand and snow have stopped progress up till today.
lots of stuff is off now.
the rear subframe/diff/suspension etc is all away from the car but still attached to the prop. i hope to finish that bit tomorrow.
the front suspension etc are off.
the engine is 75% out along with the gearbox.
i haven't even had a chance to look at most of the stuff thats been removed. just going to crack on to get the shell away and sort everything out at the end.Comment

all the suspension side of things looked fine, i dont think that stuff was really affected. once it was off i only had a quick look as i carried it to the unit as i had to crack on.
it had forged(or cast as some say!!) wishbones on the front and they were fine.
i can't remember about the diff lock switch. there was a bag of stuff from the front end which had already been removed, i haven't really checked in it, i think the n75 would be in there if its around. thats where the turbo is.
theres two sets of rear brake discs with this car.
i'm looking forward to better weather to get all the stuff sorted on shelves so i can get on with my proper cars.Comment

it looked like koni but as i said i literally lowered it and walked it to the unit. i was laying in snow and slush for the best part of 5 hours so it really was a case of get the car stripped and check later.
they didn't look mint but weren't cracked or snapped etc.. just general condition.
it did have new looking solid anodised top mounts but i'm keeping them. ive got them on one of my other s2's and i like them plus they look great!!Comment

this shell is pretty much ready to go to be re-sized.
ive cut the battery box out, the 6 speed tunnel top and the strutt brace mounts. i havent cut any other parts off.
its last orders for anything that needs to be cut off.
i'll be sorting all the parts out and tidying around for the next few days.Comment

i haven't seen this engine run myself. the alternator and power steering pump have been removed. the timing belt is tight and markings align up. it turns over by hand with a socket on the crank without any nasty issues or noticeable concerns.
there is an issue with the snub mount attachment.
i do have other 20v S2 engines i have seen run. i suppose its all down to what is included in the engine "package" as people have different opinions. pm a contact number if you want to run through it.Comment
