Not sure how you spell it.. supergrellies? supergrelas? Im sure you all know which ones I mean.

17" 215's in goldish colour, 1 damaged, requires replacement or welding. 1 has a scratch across 2 spokes. 2 are in good condition. 2 new tyres, 2 part worn tyres.

They have come off my s2 so they will fit.

They wheels sold yet then? (with such a great description and all that!)

If not then what tyres are they, what offset are the wheels and can you please post a picture of each wheel, especially the damaged ones. I've seen them on a pearl white and they look the dog's so I may be interested.

Check how much a new wheel is Andy, as running with a welded wheel is really dangerous also take into account that the superleggera's are not a standard silver colour, so if you refurbed one you'd have to do the lot as they wouldn't match.

I had this problem with a set of OZ superturismo's on my old car.

Would have bought a new wheel as there's no way that I'd run with anything that was knackered! Guessing around £150 ish. Cheers anyway, just goes to show that this is a caring forum!

Wheel refurb is £40 each. Would get them in Anthracite as I think it works well with the old pearl weiss. Could even get them colour coded and look propper BLING but it would cost a bit more unless I did it myself.

Really undecided as to whether to get 17's to fit bigger brakes under or try and shoehorn some under the 16's and keep it totally standard looking for that uber-stealth look. (@Jamo, IIRC haven't/didn't you have big reds under the 16's???) Brakes are next on the list before the power tuning phase, more than likely a set of grooved discs and some mintex 1144 pads to start as I was really happy with them on my old Golf. I've always stuck by the beleif that you should sort out the chassis before making a car quicker, did it with the Golf (driver) by uprating just about everything as it really needed doing. As a result I never felt caught out, even got me out of a few situations where a standard car wouldn't have reacted as well and would have ended up in the side of some idiot looking for a silver golf overcoat!

Aye mate, check out the website from the previous owners.

I love the Superleggera on the S2, when Ski was selling his car that's what attracted me too it.

Thanks for all that, a bit tight but the £xxx required for the wheels would go towards stopping power. Any idea of cost? (Will look on ebay and VAG parts). Might look for an old thread or start a new one as the standard turbo one was quite a success, except for the future health of my bank account!
