    Integrated Engineering Conrods - 10v and 20v 5-cylinder 144x20

    I’m selling a set of Integrated Engineering Conrods (see link for info);

Below is a cut and paste from Integrated Engineering’s website.

    Introduction
Integrated Engineering is proud to manufacture the highest quality connecting rods available for European applications, at a reasonable price. This is accomplished through careful design, manufacturing, and quality control processes. With hundreds and hundreds of sets of VW and Audi connecting rods in stock, we are your specialist supplier with the inventory and knowledge to make your project a success.
    Quality through design
One of the hallmarks of a high quality connecting rod is its strength to weight ratio. Anyone can create an extremely strong rod out of a huge chunk of steel. Creating one with a reasonable weight that works well in today's high rpm european applications, and holds up to a lifetime of torture is another story. In order to create this balance of strength and lightweight, an H beam design is utilized. The design is validated and optimized using modern CAD drafting and FEA analysis techniques. These techniques ensure the rod is as light and strong as possible. The material specification and treatment is equally important to producing a quality connecting rod with a high strength to weight ratio. Our steel rods feature 4340 Chrome Moly steel, formed into shape using a 2 piece forging for the highest possible fatigue life. The material is multi-stage heat treated to ensure the highest possible fatigue strength as well as good dimensional stability. This feature ensures that our big ends stay round for a lifetime of bearing trouble free service. Following this pattern of high quality, ARP 2000 rod bolts are standard in all of our applications, while they are an upgrade at additional cost in many of our competitors.
    Features
2 Piece Forgings from Vacuum Drawn 4340 Chrome Moly Steel
Multi Stage Heat Treat for maximum strength, dimensional stability, and fatigue life.
    Fully Machined and Shot Peened
    H beam Design
Tolerances as tight as .0003 ground on Sunnen brand equipment
    Standard ARP2000 Rod Bolts
    Computer Optimized Design
    Magnaflux Inspected
    Dimensionally Inspected
Packed in balanced sets +/- 1 gram.
All this at a price point that yields market leading value
    Audi 10V and 20v 5 Cylinder engines
    Combination tested to over 700HP+
    Dimensions
    144mm Centre to Centre
    20mm Wrist pin
    3/8 ARP 2000 Rod Bolts
    Rifle Drilling
All of our H Beam Forged rods are available in a rifle-drilled option. Rifle drilling will put a small pathway through the centre of the rod from the bearing to the wrist pin. This pathway allows pressurized oil from the rod bearing to feed extra oil to the wrist pin itself, causing less wear and friction between the rod and piston and increasing the life of the internals. We highly recommend this option in high horsepower and increased rev applications. You can select the rifle-drilled option at an additional $25.00 a rod.

    I got quotes from integrated engineering UK distributors for these, which are as follows (I can forward on the email quotes if required);

    Price: £472.56 inc VAT

    Tel:+(44) 07976 800775 Workshop Tel: 01453 822880
    Price: £498.00 + VAT
I bought these rods from integrated engineering in America and imported them, I was intending to use these for my RS2+ spec engine build, but a flat out mortgage is forcing me to downgrade the spec of the build!

They are rifle drilled which I paid extra for, they are brand new and still vacum packed in the box, I would like £425.00 + shipping but I am open to offers!

Bank transfer is preferred method of payment.

    Cheers
    Leigh

They look the same as the ones that FCP sell (£340) and Aron used sell, as well as the SCAT ones from 034, all of which are cheaper I'm afraid. It may well be that IE have done something fancy with them or had them made to a custom spec, so that might influence people's opinion, if you find out... HTH.

          Are Aarons ones rifle drilled?

They are not that much cheaper than buying new, and more expensive than Aarons etc so will not sell quickly at that price.

Also cannot see why they are advertised as suiting 10V due to the different B/E and piston pin sizes and rod length!
Not a criticism of you but sometimes conflicting information puts people off especially when you know something cannot fit both.

Apologies, FCP rifle drilled X beam are 450 euros delivered.

Does anyone use these Integrated Engineering rods? Be interested what the weight is like compared to similar options.

Do they come with a transferable warranty?

Fair point and exactly the sort of feed back I'm looking for, basically I didn't join the forum to rip anyone off, basically I paid £425 for them, and I was looking for my money back, but as I said I'm open to offers and realise that even if something is "brand new" and still in the box once you've bought it it's technically second-hand.

                Another fair point!

All I know is it fits the AAN and the size is 144 x 20mm

Why its advertised as suiting the 10v is a mystery to me!

I would be able to weigh them for you if you want, then a comparison could be done with others.

I'd think the warranty should be transferable, but will try to find out.

At the end of the day though, I'm not going to give them away, if the value of them has dropped too much, I'd be better off keeping them rather than losing money....just thought they'd still be worth a bob or two thats all...
