K26/27 Hybrid Turbo (Damaged)

The K26/27 hybrid turbo from Richard (Hoffer76) that i ran on my car for 800 miles after my first rebuild, which went wrong with shot from the inlet contaminating the oil (read all about it here), is collecting dust.

After the rebuild the turbo went back to Richard (Hoffer) where it came from to be checked over as everything else that had anything to do with oil was damaged. It had some work done but still passed some oil after it's return.

I believe it would need a new centre-housing to make it perfect again, and will update this thread with some pictures.

If i can get £300 ono back for it i'll be happy to cut my losses

I can only guess what the repair cost might be, if you could get your hands on a good condition centre housing perhaps not massive after a refurb. Getting the centre housing would be the difficult part I suspect.

The reason for me not using it is that I couldn't get it fixed quickly enough so opted for a good deal on a brand new kx500 producing similar power levels.

Both Lloyd and Ross run this turbo to its full potential, producing over 400bhp.

This is the same turbo that I have, it's capable of low 400s but I need to dyno the car and get a figure to confirm. On MAF readings it was estimated 420hp. Spool is similar to RS2, slightly later peak torque but earlier low boost. A great all rounder for low 400s.

I'd buy this if I knew where / who to send it to get it reconditioned....anyone able to point me in the right direction?

Would it be ok if I got a rough quote from Turbo Dynamics and Turbo Unit prior to commiting to buy, hopefully they'll be open tomorrow but if not it'll be Monday.
