    Carbon panels

    Hi,
I have purchased all of Simons Banbridge hilclimb car body molds.
I am in the process of negotiating prices in respect of manufacturing carbon body panels (vacuum formed NOT wet laid).
    The available panels are:
    Front wings
    Front bonnet
    Doors
    Part Tailgate (original hinges retained)
    3B cambelt cover
    some others also available.

As you are aware these are mainly designed for weight saving and they might not suit everyone, ie: the bonnet uses pins, doors will not have electric motors etc.

If anyone one is interested I can email pictures.

Love it Aelred - can you post pictures, weights and approx prices here? I love the thought of a lightweight S2 (if such a thing is possible). Can't afford it like, but I'm dead interested !

anyone actually felt the weight of the coupe tailgate and glass? wholly crap! that thing weighs a ton, just changing that and stripping the front doors would make a massive weight difference.

I have enclosed a picture of the car. Unfortunately it is only a front view.

Simon told me that the carbon doors are 22Kg lighter, I assume this is for the two doors.

agreed...it is really heavy. I've also lifted the tailgate on an S2 rally car, though, and that was fiberglass, which helped a lot. It had p/ns but I couldn't find it in the family album....

Saw it at york dragway a couple of years ago. Think its changed quite a bit since then.
