    Nothelle/RS2 hybrid turbo

Plans have changed so I'm looking to move it on
Acquired from KIT a few months ago and never fitted
    See original add below

AET built it 5 five years ago and I've covered around 15K miles with it fitted, it's still in as new condition.

    It consists of,

Nothelle K26 exhaust turbine and shaft in a machined out K24 hotside housing (50 mm exit), brand new center section with 360 bearing mated to a genuine RS2 cold side back plate and compressor wheel with a K26 housing machined to suit.

It's a cracking little turbo but really needs a custom map or Vems to make the most of it safely. Though I can say I ran it on stock 3B software with RS2 injectors and an original 3B three bar fuel pressure regulator for quite a while and was very happy with how it went. I'm not saying this is in anyway a good or scientific approach or set up. I mainly fitted the RS2 injectors to checked they worked but she was also running a little lean with 3B injectors, the AFR's with RS2 items were much better so I left it like it for the best part of 10K miles as it ran really nicely. Really that should only be considered a temporary option, at least it's allows for some shake down time before a mapping session.

I have been running it with full RS2 software and it hit's 1.9 bar just fine, however I reckon I'm pushing my luck a little hence the K24 7200 purchase.

Pic's to follow very soon as it's coming off the car tomorrow.

    Comes with AET paperwork/box.

Looking for what I paid for it

£500 posted to UK address and happy to post aboard as well for whatever it costs.

It's worth noting that that unit cost me £700 with VAT and is basically a new turbo with brand new centre section, hot side housing, RS2 cold side back plate and RS2 comp wheel.

Surprised no one has snapped this up, I only sold it because I got lucky and picked up a PRJ RS2+ spec ECU, it then made more sense to change over to a stock RS2 turbo than go to the trouble of getting a custom map.

              Cheers for the input Kit

The only reason I'm moving this on is the fact I have now got a super sexy tubular manifold with a t3 flange.
I had even considered using kkk to t3 adaptor and running it anyway.

                No worries mate.

if you've gone for a T3 flange it's a bit on the diddy size really so I can see why you want to sell it on.

Free bump for a cracking turbo.

As I mentioned in my original advert this turbo works very nicely on an otherwise stock 3B with the addition of RS2 injectors run at 3 bar, safe AFR's and EGT's anyway.

Forgive my ignorance but would I see any benefits on my aby with a 'homefried' ecu?

No, that would be very risky, the car would be dangerously lean on boost, as with any hybrid it requires a custom map to run correctly.

what kind of power would it be making with the right injectors, maps etc?

Yep, second that, in fact when I got it revised I requested a unit from AET that would push 400bhp at 2 bar, however that would probably be a bit optimistic.

I briefly ran it on the same PRJ RS2+ software that I'm now using with a full K24 7200 and it performed very nicely on full throttle and was fine when cruising and on light load but it didn't feel quite right around 2500 RPM as it was spooling up sooner than the RS2 turbo the software was designed for. WOT performance was dam close so mapped correctly it would a really nice turbo for the mid 300's.

When I ran it on stock 3B software with RS2 injectors at 3 Bar you'd be hard pressed to notice any more lag over a stock K24.

If I had an ABY I'd have stuck with it and got it custom mapped by PRJ, I got lucky though and picked up a PRJ live mapped 3B ECU for full RS2 spec and given how much hassle it is to get a 3B mapped properly it made more sense to swap the turbo.
