Paul, If you want to tackle the fuel tank/rear end you can use my 2 post lift no problems. If you can wait until after next weekend i'll have a car trailer at the house also, so can come and trailer it up here.

      no problems, only solutions...

That's an incredibly kind offer Ivan - mad but kind !!!

Let me get the alternator woes sorted this weekend and I will think about that. Gonna have to line up all manner of parts etc in advance to prevent the old tank from hogging your lift for 2 weeks.

There is no issue at all, even if it stays there for 2 weeks, Just had a friends Mx5 on it for 3 weeks, with the twins at the minute I don't have alot of time for garage work, so it wouldn't really be in the road.

Well to quote the great Biff Byford - we are "Back on the streets again" in the old tank. Let's see how she holds up for the rest of the winter. Need to keep an eye on fuel levels cos of that damn leak - still weighing up whether to take up Ivan's fantastic offer to use his ramp and fix or just sell the old girl onwards when we find a suitable replacement.

Guess I better move this thread out of the parts for sale area - lol - I was right at the end of my tether with it - these old cars really put thru an emotional roller coaster sometimes. Gotta dig deep for the fortitude to fix them when the rain is blowing sideways and your fingers get so numb that you can barely use tools.
