An hour spent with a plastic welder and some filler and primer no one would bat an eyelid if I said £200.. So yes I paid 50 for it..Comment

I recently repaired a V6 front bumper I cracked quite badly when on a spirited back road drive in icy conditions over Xmas.
Using industrial tape I stuck the bumper back together on the face side then added a couple of steel plates using Tiger Seal along the back of the cracks to act like stitches and hold it in position, the most important one being on the upper edge which can be clamped as there's access.
Then I roughened the back with 20 grit sandpaper and covered it with a good layer of fibreglass using strips in many different directions to get as much strength as pos. If you hang the bumper at the right angle the fibreglass resin will run into the cracks and fill/bond them.
I took the tape off expecting a disaster and it to come apart, but that wasn't the case at all, turns out I'd effected a very strong repair and one piece had been detached completely.
You could then also plastic weld the front for a belt and braces approach, bit of a filler and a quick rub down and you'd never know, from the front anyway
