    Lowering springs for RS2/S2 Avant.

Right, the springs on my RS2 make it sit about 35mm lower than my mates stock example, As I drive my cars properly on all road surfaces I'm not a fan of lowering springs so they will be being removed this week and returned to stock, will get some photo's of the springs and way the car sits tomorrow. Have to say it looks good and does handle well but all round not as well as stock, particularly at high speed, on low speed (sub 80mph) twisty stuff I'd say my car has the edge.

The springs themselves are OE RS2 springs will the same number of coils as stock and the same colour code marks as stock RS2 springs. Charlie and I both counted the amount of coils and came to the same conclusion that there's the same number of coils but the gaps between the coils is less. As I've said the rear sits about 40mm lower and front somewhere between 35 &40 mm.

I can only conclude that they are stock springs modified to sit lower, there are various company's that offer such services and it sure beats chopping a coil off.

Like I've said I like to be able to use me cars as Audi intended on all road surfaces, putting stock springs on my Coupe is one of the best things I've done to the car, along with a late spec rack.

Anywy that's quite enough rambling, bloody wine.

    In short,

OE RS2 springs modified to sit aprox 35/40mm lower, work well but not for me and type of driving I do.
