    Billet Steering Bracket kits

    Hi All,

been developing these for best part of 18months now on/off. James Dorey has the first prototype fitted to his car and has been nothing but complimentary about the setup. I have attached a few images of the kit, the assembly and the bracket with details. If you want to know more feel free to message. Kit will fit both LHD and RHD cars, it is designed symetrically to allow fitment in either orientation.

    Bracket -
6082-T6 Aluminium 5 Axis CNC machined (6hours process) then Hard anodised to 25µm. Fitment is for the 24mm Rack bar (S2 and Typ89)

    Stud Assembly -
Precision machined studs from 15CDV6 steel then tig welded to structural steel plate and nickel plated.

    Clamp Plate -
    Structural steel plate nickel plated.

    Spacers -
Road Fitment: Stainless Steel 316 (1.4401) precision machined.
Race Fitment: Stainless Steel 316 (1.4401) precision machined misalignment spacers.

Kits are sold with both road and race spacers, allowing the kit to be used from the box if an upgrade to tubular steering arms isnt desired just yet. Please note that there are only 9 kits left and if they are all sold it will be a few weeks before the next batch is available.

Price is £300 inc UK VAT @ 20% + postage.
Postage set at £8.50 in the UK for next day delivery, £20 for international postage. All packages are sent recorded. Those interested can contact me direct @ jay@dm-developments.com.

PLEASE double check your steering rack bar diameter, this kit is designed for the 24mm bar diameter not the 22.5mm Typ85 rack bar. The Typ85 kit is in production and will be available soon.

Stock item is a pressed steel piece which has inherent flex during cornering. This setup reduces flex to minimal amounts. Terry Bullwon on here found considerable toe changes when the steering arms are loaded up as in a cornering scenario.

There's been around 30hours and £900 in development of these so they should do the job

Great product these I think mine is over a year old now. Compared to the stock item it's a no brainier if your **** and measure your toe changes under loadings. I think also the spec was to be lighter than stock so maybe there is also a few hundred grams in it to if that's your cuppa.

If you go the rose joint route changing your toes will become a 2 minute job!

            Mac2226 PM sent.

James, cheers for analogy! I will find original setup weight to post but the whole assembly for this weighs less than 600gms including all fittings. Like you say toe changes and steering arm removal is easy with the clamp plate removed by two M8 flange nuts.

Forgot to say it fits LHD and RHD alike, added details on this to original post.

Two kits confirmed sold and three potential sales waiting payment, if your interested message as once is batch is gone it could be a few weeks before the next batch is machined, coated and assembled.

Had mine fitted for a couple of weeks now but it had it's first serious test last weekend when I went to York dragstrip and gave the car a good thrashing up the B1228. The comination of the much improved stiffness of the new bracket and the removal of the steering damper now means the steering feels much more direct and has more feeling, something I never thought I'd say about an S2!

They're not cheap but I'm really pleased with mine and would say they're worth every penny

Take the rubber out the steering column to it's like a real car!
