Yes, but as you can see from the pic, the OEM 7A baffle has enormous gaps in the rear and at the most important place, just under the breather outlet. Of course it will help some, but it will not be so good.

Good! I was looking at the same points and expecting such answer.
Last question: how is connected breather system in your car or in your friends type85? I just want to compare with mine to see if I do have the same 'scenario'

Just a big hose from the block and a small hose from the valvecover to a oil separator can with a drain to the sump. Breathing to the atmosphere.

I have to remind that I don't yet run this baffle, and I have trouble with oil forcing out the breather in hard lauches. My friend uses this kind of baffle and a similar breather setup without issues. He has more power and a lighter car. Next time my engine is out I will of course put in this baffle.

Just want to share my breather setup, will use this diagram as reference:
                    http://forums.quattroworld.com/s4s6/msgs/22506.phtml

from valve cover pink line running to three (NOT four) way breather tube on the crankcase breather assembly and from there, from another outlet of three way breather tube one direct line to the oil catch tank. No drain to the sump. Breathing to the atmosphere.

I guess that means you can't fit them with the engine in the car. Isn't it just a case of dropping the sump, not that I've looked into how easy that is.

Yes, drop the sump, but also drop the subframe. Quite easy to do, but I will soon take out the engine anyway.
