I bought 2 of these and fitted one to my car almost 2 years ago. The one im selling at the moment is the spare one. They are ex indy car turbos, and is in great working condition. If your reading this im sure you know what a EFR turbo is, its a turbo specifically designed and built for performance, no cost spared, EFR standing for Engineered For Race. The EFR turbos have a Billet forged milled extended tip compressor wheel and a Gamma-Ti turbine wheel which is partially ceramic, partially steel. Its a special light weigh hi temperature transition material. It also has military-grade dual ceramic ball bearing assembly with silver plated metal cage in a water cooled light-weight Aluminum bearing housing. The turbine housing is investment cast in stainless steel and is V band in V band out. The unit is an external wastegate model with a 0.85AR and so suits our 5 cylinder engines well.
The unit is rated at 500 BHP, and i had no problems making 450 BHP and 520 ft/lb torque on this turbo on my stroker on asda 95 ron petrol. On my stroker i have over 2 bar of boost available from 2800 rpm in top gear! Response is very fast due to the light weight parts used and it makes for a great daily driver turbo that can still make good power. If running over 2 bar boost there is some slight surge from 3-3.5K rpm, and then it clears up. While running on the dyno i found that the car made more torque when running with this slight surge and so i have left it that way for 15K miles with no issues. Just stating all the facts so you arnt surprised with anything. If your using a stock displacement engine, then the rpm figures i have gave above should be multiplied by 1.15 to give an good approximation as to when the turbo will spool. Eg 2800 x 1.15 = 3220 rpm for over 2 bar if requested in high gears.
The V band turbine housing can be made fit an audi KKK or T3 exhaust manifold very easily. Its size almost matches a 2.5 inch stainless tube and i had a exhaust manifold flange made and a v band flange at a local machine shop. I then used a very short piece of 2.5 inch stainless pipe to join the 2. The turbo is very compact and should fit with stock air boxes etc.
The compressor inlet is a 3 bolt type, which again i had a stub made at a machine shop that pushes in with an o ring to seal and has 3 tabs on it that m6 cap heads go through to attach. This allows tight bends etc to be fitted easily. A 2.5 inch inlet is the minimum size required, but it can be made larger to suit your intake system for the MAF if required.
Custom Oil and water lines will be required, but these are similar to Garrett GT lines and any hydraulic shop can make them up.

Price is £600 delivered In the UK. Thats less than half the price of a new one. Next post will have the pictures of the actual turbo for sale.
Thanks des.
