The car has very low mileage, with service history, the paintwork is 99.9% original, and as you can see from pics is nigh on concours condition throughout,

Correct. From what I've read, the 2.3s were renowned for being a bit more lively but the 2.5s were quicker and more drivable every day, as you'd expect really. Standard 2.5 192bhp, Evo 1 204bhp, EvoII 235bhp, not that power is everything of course. Very oversquare engine so lots of revs to be had!

I too considered a standard 2.5 but they're rarer than S2s and I didn't even look into the cost of fixing one if it went wrong...
