              nightmare but now sorted
the crank pully broke and damaged 10 inlet valves broke timing belt and cracked the sprocket in 2 places i spent 3 days in my mates garage in burnley sorting out the problem the crank pully (another one ) still vibrates ,any ideas how i can cure this problem ? or what is causing this problem ?
how about aluminium one ? and machine the sprocket out of steel instead of standard cast (weak one ) has anyone had sprocket made in steel on here before?

i've also put the rad more upright and put a scoop under the car to divert more air upwards .
it cools a lot better now and i've also cut out the number plate recess and fitted a grill instead

I think a short quattro with normal quattro windscreen looks much better...
Personally I think it would look even better if AZEV C caps are used and maybe even in white!

Makes me wonder why no one has ever tried a S1 replica (white with black) with real S1 looks... Must be costing a fortune those panels, but would be a monster!

i think there are one or two that have built the s1 replica . it took me about 8 months to get the wheels from germany .
after that much wait i'm just happy in standard colour . i did see some compomotivs on a shorty yesterday at castle coombe and they only cost him £400 brand new and he didn't have to wait no 8 months for them either and they were in white too.

Yes I like those old compotive wheels too especially on Escort Cosworth. But the new Compo's are not that pretty any more... I like the old five spoke the best. But your car looks best with a five spoke with dish! So keep it as it is I shoud say
