I would have taken the engine out i think, but fair play for doing all that work with everything in place! Keep up the good work!

ideally i would too but my mate is a good mechanic and recomended this way .we released the caps on the cams so the valves wouldn't touch the pistons incase they were pushed up .it worked out good thats the beauty of having a ramp .

Nice work Jamil, bit dissapointed that you used a gearbox lift though , whats wrong with the old school method of just holding it up and wragglinng it in ?, did you have to dismantle the s/rack ?

have you ever tried holding up a 6 speed box ? it nearly fell off that jack i just managed to catch it falling .
i had to loosen the steering arm from the suspension leg side and push it out of the way so i could wriggle the box in .
it went in fairly easily the biggest thing was welding the transmission tunnel in to clear the 6 speed linkage, it still catches so i'm going to put in taller subframe bushes to drop the box by 10 mm .
