Basic info here based on 8 Series

If your German is up to scratch then there is a guy here who put a 5 litre V12 into an E30 3 series. Might be worth investigating.

Which V12 are you thinking of? The one from the 850Ci gives 300BHP but if you can find one get the one from the 850CSi. It puts out 380BHP. The same basic engine was put in the MacLaren F1 so is capable of plenty more!

in the spring i should be starting down a similar road. however, my base will be a mid to late 80s Jaguar xjs V12tt (gonna be about 2 years in the making i think) All of my friends think I'm insane or wanting to do this therefore i know I'm on the right track...

I'm choosing the jag for many reasons. Among them, no one around here has had the stupidity to try it and jag V12s are dirt cheap ($500 on ebay) being an open decked block it won't take much boost but with 5.3L (and easily changed to MUCH more) it won't take much boost to get some silly numbers (goal is 700 at the crank)

The best part is that NO ONE would even think an old Jaguar will be anything other than a dog. furthuring the deception will be crusty paint and with any luck, it'll have rusty fenders and hood :mischeif: the rust shouldn't be a difficult thing to achieve given where i live!

and yes, i will likely kill myself behind the wheel of this car
