Seems my tuner has done some work. Much bigger IC was needed with the extra power.
Solution as follows

measure up IC

X -member replacement/strengthening

End result (no idea where No plate will go )

The intercooler is a radiater so air flow being reduced is not as big a problem as you think.

Corey posted up an excellent explanation of how an intercooler works.

( still has some points I do not agree with as you can have an IC too big simply law of chemisty and physics regarding gas pressure but now i'm being pendatic )

Thank you but you need to read it again I think!!! Don't think of the intercooler as a radiator but as a heat sink within a stereo amplifier.

I think you won't recognize you car after a blast. Changing to bigger IC sometimes makes so much difference. Of course mine doesn't look so nice, but what you pay is what you get .
