Well well... since good things won't last with me and my CQ, I couldn't actually think it could come worst than this.
The investigation on the oil pressure issue happened today, and I got some crazy bad news.

Looks like the guys would rebuilt my engine more than a year ago (remember that the car has been sitting for a very long time) forgot to put some parts in (some kind of spacers I don't know what.. I went deft when I heard the words "we'll have to remove the engine and rebuilt it again"). Looks like the rods weren't align properly and screw everything up inside the engine little by little and it came to the oil pressure thing since everything is ****ed up inside. I'll get more info went I drop by the garage in a few minutes but I don't know if I want to know every detail... One thing's for sure, MAJOR work AGAIN on the car.. and $$$$$ again and again.

I kinda just want to throw everything away right now, but I know it's not worth it since I won't get anything for a car that needs an engine rebuild.
Looks like I won't have my car again for this winter...
I just can't believe everything that has happened lately with my CQ... must be bad karma or something.

Scheiße. I'm sorry to read that. Such a shame, just as you thought it was all good to go.
Was it the crank thrust washers that were missing? I had to pull my engine out as I couldn't remember fitting them, only to find I had done them, without thinking.

At least it was good to see you got some good results with the 3076 on the 0.63.
Good luck with the rebuild. Stick with it.

not good to read, I was tempted to do my engine but for what its going to cost me i'm letting someone who's had a lot of practice do it. Hope you get it sorted and look forward to hear more progress

Yup, it's exactly those... My mechanic is going to call tomorrow the rebuilt shop and we'll see what they think about all this....

Yes, those are the missing parts that caused all this nightmare.

Sad news! Since this is "their" error, will they be rebuilding it for free?

I really hope so, but I'm being realistic and not waiting for a miracle here since it's been quite a long time (more than a year) that they rebuilt it. My mechanic has to call the manager back this afternoon to see what they can do.

I'll cross my fingers but with everything that has happened with my CQ, I'm pretty sure I'll have to repay everything.. but we'll see!

Good luck getting it sorted, When I first bought mine the thrust washers came away from the crank. Unfortunately I had to purchase a new short block because the crank had worn away part of the block where the thrust washers werent retaining it and the crank had lost quite a bit off it too due to the friction on the block. If you would like some pics of what mine was like drop me a PM.

Hope you can get it all sorted ok.

So, engine is coming out next weekend...
The guys who rebuilt it the first time are willing to have a look at it and we'll see what kind of agreement we come up with.. I'll cross my fingers!

On a more happy side, I picked up my new wheels for next summer.. Love them! And my cat does too

The car is up and running again!
It runs so smooth I love it. Installed the new wheels yesterday.. I have to admit that I really love the look!

Glad to see you've got it up and running again

What happened with the engine rebuild, did the shop that did the original build accept responsibility for it?

They say it never happened in their entire life that someone forgot that piece.. they argued and so did we. At the end, I still paid a little something but nothing like a complete rebuilt and 034 was kind enough to give me a rebate on new pistons too. Anyway, that is over now... Let's see the positive side!
