I have to confess me and my dad build them together (though he himself would admit i have to do all the hard stuff) we have got a cobra to which is why i have been building the ur for so long but this year is the quattro year...............
This is an awesome car! Im loving how this project is going. Is this based on the mark 1?
I remember many years back seeing a GT40 at the Earls Court motor show, it was such a good replica nobody could tell the difference between that and the race GT40 in the Gulf colours. I beleive you have to call it the GT40D if its a replica?
Wow! Nice project.
An old friend of mine drove a real GT-40 a few decades ago. I think that one had a 427 ci engine IIRC. He said it was horrible to drive. Hot, noisey and cramped was how he put it.
Really awesome. The GT40 is on my favorits list occupying top position Awesome car.
I once drove a CAV gt40 replica in New York. That was before my audi days. I was planning on building a kitcar. The CAV is a really nice car, but not available as a kit. Only turnkey.
Good luck with it. Are those halibrand wheels? and what gearbox does it have? ZF, porsche or 016 FWD audi

The wheels are BRM replicas. The gearbox is an uprated Renault UN1 box its also adapted to accept Ford uj's.
Well for those interested she has passed the SVA (Single Vehicle Approval) 6 hour test...... they even meassure the chamfer on the rear of the wheel nuts to ensure thay match the chamfer on the wheel so it will be on a "56" plate
