That is a pretty nice looking engine. Where is PK motorsport? Did the I-manifold come prepared for the sensors, and the throttle wire attachment or did you do it yourself?

You must be in the same business as Mark H and Doug - robbing banks - except you rob the Swiss ones

I am a peaceful guy so I won't rob banks. I'll counterfeit money.

      :eek2:

how about a group buy for all that goodyes
Just for everybody's information, how much did each of those performance parts cost (if you don't mind telling, of course).

I like the 996 GT3 alloys I saw on the background.....

Same question. I need to prepare a Wagner manifold just like that one. There are no holes for the ISV and vacuum hoses. I mostly need help with the ISV connection.

Yes its a Dream machine next Days i hope it will run..but i need still a big intercooler..and some small parts..

and yes i rob swiss banks
The Price for all was about 15k euro..except parts i still had..(fuel pump,gt2 injectors etc)

I have the parts from PK Motorsport (pk-motorsport.de) its a small Tuner in Germany, but he is really really good!
The intake Manifold is like the Wagner Manifold, but modified..you need no mods to fit it..sensors,throtte etc fits perfect, theres a longer gas cable(right??) only the wires for the temp. sensor and the throttle poti must be modified.. i can take detail photos of the manifold if you need

the crankshaft was made lighter, fine balanced and nitrated..costs 1100 euro in exchange

the 996 gt3 alloys will be installed too

I would appreciate detail phoots of the manifold, thank you!

Mine has the (threaded) holes for the air temp sensor and the threaded holes to mount the throttle body are present. I think the small vacuum ports are simple enough, but I have to fit the idle stabilizer valve, and it has a large hole with a fitting in the original manifold. I have to drill and tap the holes to secure the fuel rail as well.

I will probably take both manifolds to a machine shop to have them do the modifications, but I need to decide where to put the idle stabilizer valve hole.

Are you running Motronic engine management on that car?

            Thanks,

I got one on eBay for $455.00 (USD), $45 shipping.

I have not seen one go that cheap since.

I have been watching those auctions too. I think you got a good price. How was the general finish when you could see it up close?

I too got a decent price of $495 I think it was, plus shipping. Thank God I got outbid the time I took it up close to $800! :eek2:

The finish is pretty ugly. Inside is rough cast, but is probably okay from what I hear about how smooth it needs to be. The outside has machine marks or sanding or grinding in all different directions. It's a very purposeful-looking piece. I wonder how it would look fully polished.

Mark, where are you in your installation? Are you running Motronic management?

How many of us with these manifolds are here, Wagner or otherwise (that need further work to fit)?

Here's a pic of a pile of parts.

I will not be running motronic engine management. My car is the 20v N/A Coupe Quattro so the engine is based on the 7A block (2.3L) and head, the car will be primarily a track car, so I will be running an aftermarket system (Autronic, EFI Technologies, or maybe 034EFI). I am in the info gathering and parts gathering phase as far as the engine goes, and since I am going a route not really taken before, and I keep changing my goals, I don't expect the car to be back on the road for another couple years.

                        Haha! Hey Mark!

I guess if I wanted to know about your project, I could connect the dots and refer to the email you sent me on the 26th! Now I know you are the same guy.

Actually that was the route I was taking and then I found a 3B motor that changed things up for me a bit. I still like the idea of rolling one's own 20vt, especially if big power is the goal since so much needs to be changed out anyway. I got hung up on the water manifold tho', wanting to ensure the best cooling possible. Just needed a way to make factory-style holes in the head, as I got a manifold.

After I got your email, I checked out the EFI Technologies website. It looks pretty promising, but I didn't find any of their retailers that actually mentioned the product on their website. I was gonna try to get some price quotes, but didn't ask anyone since nobody seemed to focus on it.

Nice to see you on the forums here!

                        Ken

the 2004 wasn't my year.. too much of work..too much to pay..and its very hard to drive such a car legal in switzerland..i had much trouble with the police because of my other car..i had trouble with the justice because of too high speeding..the motor of my friends e39 m5 is crashed and the motor (i must repair it) of my others friends diablo sv evo is crashed..it was a real *bad word* year..no motovation to finish my project.. i sold some parts...
but now i finish this beast
i think next week i get the dahlbäck exhaust manifold an a bigger turbo K27/9..i think this will be one of the fastest s2 sedan ever
if i have news and new pics, i will show you..

                            regards

                                >>> the crankshaft was made lighter, fine balanced and
                                >>> nitrated..costs 1100 euro in exchange

There are several possibilities to fine balance the system and could you tell which method was used in the company that balanced your crank/total system.

I do not know the factory way and therefore asking.

                                way number one is
                                - to balance each single component first to zero
                                - then start adding parts and balance each round
                                (crank, damper, flywheel, pressure plate)
                                - then add the % weight extra to simulate the rod & piston weights and finalize balancing to zero

                                way number two
                                - do above but without the simulated % addition

way number three (close to one)
                                - overtake some phases in way one
                                - skip some single balancings and then balance total pack
to zero OR with to zero with % simulation weight additions.

If someone could reveal how Audi factory did the T5 20v balancing would be great to know.
