Building of ersatz S2 & U.S. 3B rebuild

I have been driving 7A powered cars for the past 5 years (except for a brief stint in an E36 M3). Great cars but lacking miserably in the hp department. I need HP!!!
As many of you know the S2 was not available in the U.S. So I am left to build my own.
I have set up a website that will show the progression of my project.
It is quite lame at the moment but I hope to enhance along the way.

Cleaning, cleaning, cleaning.

I polished all the valve stems, polished the wrist pins, and am working on porting the head. I ran out of sanding drums but more are on the way.

Now to get those pistons. Leaning toward JE or Ross right now...

Ross pistons it is. Going to send one to Ross for measurements, will work on S2forum discount or group buy.

Porting of the head is going well, another week or so I should have it done.

You using a die grinder for the porting or a Dremel?

Die grinder with sanding drums. A dremel does not have enough poop...

It takes an entire kit like this:

to do a head. Oh yeah, and a lot of time. More due to being careful than actual time to remove material.
