Do head porting. I think it is important if you use bigger turbo than k24.

I am toying with the following options ;
1) MRC custom remap ( approx 360 Bhp / 500 Nm with reduced lag )
2) Hybrid K26/27 ( with #8 ) turbo, to approx 420 Bhp & 500 Nm torque ( on stock
bottom end ) with custom remap by MRC ( more lag then std RS2, boost @
approx 4 k rpm )
3) Garrett Gt 2871 turbo ( apparently same output as k26/27 ) with custom remap
by Quattronics ( Boost @ approx 3 K rpm, little or no lag, what about top end ).
I have recieved conflicting views on each of the above turbo's and am looking for advice / comments from anyone who has BTDT.
Mod's to date incl Big Reds, Samco's (boost & coolant, Tks Paul) and decatted milltek.
Any help appreciated !
Also, a friend has an ABY S2, would the above options suit ?
Thanks
John.
BTDT MRC custom remap. Less fuel use off boost, earlier onset boost, smooth consistent power all the way to the redline.
You really do not need to mess around with hardware changes initially with the RS2.
Even better with V power rather than optimax which could give variable results.
Downside for me was I missed the boost 'kick' of the standard map (or lag) although Mihnea can do the emulate that in a remap if wanted !Alastair
