    MK2 Golf gti

Well, as a lot of you know i am selling the S2 and building a new project. Thought I would let you know what i am intending to build, hopefully before inters 2007, providing the old girl sells quickly.

    Mk2 Golf Gti
    1.8T AEB engine
    GT3071R turbo
034 EFi management with anti-lag etc
    034 exhaust manifold
    Uprated rods
    Lower CR.
    550cc injectors
    FMIC
    17" wheels
    330mm brakes at front
    3" exhaust
    stripped out with roll cage
    Quaiffe 6 speed with LSD

Hoping for 450-500bhp, with 2wd its going to be a nightmare, so future plans are to run 4wd. But dont want to upgrade engine twice or three times on this car!!

That's going to be mental with FWD. You'll miss the 4wd, my old mk.2 GTi couldn't handle the 115bhp that it came out the factory with minus 165k's worth of abuse!!! (That was on 14's though! THe wheels span in 2nd in the wet if you were a bit rough with it!)

When you do get grip the 500-600bhp/ton should put a smile on your face to say the least!

          Good luck.

Thats going to be a cracker..... Mk II, love it...
I had a front wheel drive SAAB 9000 with 450 Lb/ft, it was a bit of a handful, and in the wet.......forget it...! The Golf should handle better than that though, so fingers crossed we all get to see it spinning up soon...!
Honda CBR 1100XX Blackbird Turbo....undergoing major changes.....
S2 Coupe... bit easier off the line...
'03 ZX12-R daily hack.... lots of nice bolt ons...

I don't think that the 1.8 20V will make 500 on a GT3071R. The EIP stage 2 upgrade uses the GT and that hit's about 400 crank; food for thought, I know someone running a GT3071R on 550's (abeit in need of a decent remap) +3" turbo back + a few other mods and it's hitting 317whp.

All depends on who maps it IMO. Should do a good 450. Can run a lot of boost for a long time. Possibly 2.2bar from spool up to redline at about 7k. Will soon find out in a few months.

heres some pics of the new car

paid £900 for it as the engine had a running problem. I fixed that within half an hour. Cambelt was 2 teeth out No wonder it didnt go, well its still slow, but performs ok for an 8v golf gti
