  • Found this today and knocked at the door

Hi I've known about this about 10 years but after thinking about it I thought I'd knock at the door and offer to buy it .
the old lady said it was her sons and will get him to ring me .
Looks solid apart from the wings but there prone.
    I'm nearly 100% it's a 20v s2 how would I find out for sure .
It's been sat here 11 years she said .

It hasn't got S2 wheels. Does it have white dials? A look in the engine bay and boot build label will confirm.

Speedline wheels will be 4x108 so a normal Coupe. That front wing is as bad as I've seen. If it's been sitting on that grass for that long, there will be more horrors underneath

Bonnet is b3 as well, pretty sure all s2 were made with the grille incorporated into the bonnet...

It may well be a 20v but dont think its got a turbo.

Have a look under the back end for a rear subframe and driveshafts to the rear wheels to see if quattro or not.

Still a valuable engine, and for spares!

And with the bonkers private plate market, you never know - the plate might be worth more than the car! A plumber could take a shine to H20 ETC.

Good point , you would probably get your money back from the 20v head alone

Rear arches started rotting? Likely boot floor has rotted along with the sills.
I've not seen a front wing that rough before, so it has sat for a long time.
Everything will be siezed or rotted through (fuel pipes be a prime one)
But if you get it right price it could be worth a chance.
Tell me on Saturday when you come for those parts

Dibs on the headlamp washers, loom, pump etc ?

I doubt the interior is dry after all this time, but photos would be good .
