skip the ebc greens and put some reds in it, the greens won't take the abuse...actually neither will the calipers definately not a coupe strongpoint... Also with the price of tyres as it stands why not go for 18's instead, seems there is not much difference between the price of a 17 and an 18.

Look forward to seeing some pictures

        Cheers

M-reg Coupe quattro 20v?? that must have sat in a showroom for a long time

Agree with David, greens were rubbish on my old cq20v, reds were a much better choice. Standard brakes aren't that bad really on the cq, well I found them to be ok-ish.

I found that if you made sure the stock brakes were all working ok, OEM disks and pads were fine on the cq20v.

whats the weight difference between the CQ and the s2 that brings the brakes back into being reasonable?

I agree avoid the EBC green*****, i think there made out of recycled cardboard. Brakes can be ok in a cq, but one or two hard stops from 100mph will usually get the better of them.

As for tyre size i run 18"s but would be far better off with 17" and higher profile tyres for rough bumpy roads.

@s2driveruk, I found a figure for a UK spec CQ20v @1320kg, vs 3B @1425kg and ABY @ 1525kg. 205kg difference between 7A and ABY is huge ....and almost all of it is over the front wheels.

Doesnt the weight have to do with things added to make the car safer? Also there is a 250LB differance between the 1990 CQ and 1991 CQ the 90 being the lighter
