Looking good looking good! What flavour of yellow is it painted in? And... Are you painting it with the bumper on?

I decided the front wings were the wrong shape so decided to reshape them and atempt to make them from carbon/kevlar

after being primered then flatted with 800 and then 2000 wet and dry and then 9 coats of mould release wax they look like this

then i started to make the mould

The colour is Ford citrus yellow but i,m changing it to an Audi graphite grey and yes it was sprayed with the bumpers on because i moulded them into the body(at the time of when the vehicle was shortened you could only get sport quattro bonnets as after market body panels) .

Bet those front wings were a PITA to make. How is the project coming along now?

Getting the shape of the front wing was a pain in the *** as i was only working from pictures and every angle you look at is different and seems to keep changing .Anyway heres some pictures of the cooling system due to the use of the AAN inlet manifold space is tight on the radiator side of things so i@ve decided to go the rally cross/S1 route and fit the radiator in the boot.

At the moment i'm still in the process of building up the layers of fibreglass on the mould hopefully by the end of the week it'll be ready to remove from the plug(i just hope the release wax works ).

The mould is now finished and is removed from the plug

now just needs finishing and the ready for the carbon/kevlar

                        Very impressive
I've always been curious about the itme taken to make stuff out of Carbon Fibre...it seems that I was right that it takes bloomin ages for a one off
                        keep up the great work

It does take time and iv'e still got the other front wing the 2 rear wing, rear spoiler, front and rear bumpers and sills to do,i'm also thinking of doing the boot lid as well

If i could afford it i would buy a complete body kit off of Aelred but the cost of this front wing for me to make is about £170.00 and i still have the mould to make another 1 or 2 if needed obviously time is not taken into consideration but i'm not rushing.
