Time for an update,Things have been moving pretty slow recently but we are making progress and redoing things for the better.the front chassis member which was made from stainless is now going to be made from ally.

Managed to borrow a mock up T4 turbo to check for clearance issues. It fits!!

New springs for the front coilover conversions

Swapped the drive flanges on the rear diff(S4 to CQ)bolt straight on

      Adapters for the rear brembos

My new period front AP 4 pot calipers(just need to work out which front pads are needed)

      My new Carbon/Kevlar boot lid

Loving the work you are doing here mate!

What kind of T4 turbo is that gt40, or even gt42? Will the bonnet shut with the turbo on that manifold!

The boot lid you have made looks superb, any chance you would consider making another for me?

Keep the work and updates coming!

Its just a T4 mock up turbo but there is at least 1" clearance allround and about 2" bonnet clearance.

Just a tip on your welding,
More gas and a shorten the electrode so it only just sticks out of the shroud.
Have a play with the frequencey, Aim for a chrome look to the weld.
              Practice makes perfect.

              Keep up the good work!

Cheers any advise is appreciated I'm starting on the shroud between the boot lid and radiator(1mm thickness ally)some bits are good some are s**t thicker stuff seems easier but it,s the inside of a 90 degree angle that needs practice.

Wouldn't recommend mig on Ali, not as pretty as Tig!

Update time.Been getting used to the tig welder mainly on ally but have just started to play with stainless on the exhaust

The front cross member is now in ally and has the intercooler mounts attached

Started to make the bracket to hold the fuel pumps

The front to rear coolant pipes are fabricated

                        The fuel filler cap

Bit of an ally fest going on in the rear of the car

And now on to fabricating the exhaust system I will do the front pipe when I know which turbo I'm using

The exhaust looks V nice, what size is it 3.5"?

Just a thought, if you cut alloy or touch it with a grinder then the metal is contaminated and wont weld very well.

I find a file, then a stainless steel wire brush, then thinners works well and dont forget to wipe your filler rod

Do you use a foot pedal too?

The exhaust is 3" 316 stainless, now I'm working out the size of the silencer proberly 8.5"x6.5"x12" found this site

And I'm using a foot pedal It does help to bring the power in gently just need to get a seat so I can be more comfortable when welding

What size turbo are you thinking? Gt40?
