7A head on WR block, anyone done it ??

Well here,s another idea, is it possible to put the 20 valva 7A head onto the WR block to achieve a 20 valve turbo ?, also can anyone sugest where i can get bigger valves and high lift cams. I am also looking into getting a bigger turbo so can anyone sugest a larger direct replacement.
Apart from the engine i also need a roll cage for the WR and i have some Red 4 pot Porsche calipers so does anyone know where i can get the bracket to mount them. Thanx,,,

No the head won't work as the water galleries are wrong between the 2. It is possible to use the 20v head on the 10v 2226cc block though.
What are you trying to achieve power wise? It helps with the specification of the other parts.
The part numbers for your calipers also helps us to determine what brake kit is suitable (also helps if we know what wheel you are using).
We have many options for the ur chassis for Porsche based brake upgrades.

Send us an email and we will sort something out for you.

20 v on the old style block 5syl

ALL 20v ( 5 syl)head will fit old style audi block: some minor holes for the water, you may drill if you want( 3mm) BUT some old style block have only 79,5 and even 2,0 diesel have 76,5 boresize... the valve may have contact in the upper sylinder, if you use high lift camms...( the go down in the sylinder) and have the piston valvecuts for the space?? piston and valvesalads arent healthy for the engine
have tryed my 20 v headgasget on the 84 2,0 block outside today, and have the gasged lying , so it WILL fit

Thanx for taking the time to reply to my thread. Well the idea is to change my WR to a 20 valve without spending a fortune. Because of my sport project taking so long i decided to make some changes to my WR. I sprayed it in the Group B livery 2 years ago which looks the nuts but the novilties worn off now so its time to make some changes. Ive bought a Dialynx vented bonnet for the standard WR and a rear wing, had it lowered and got some white Fuch alloys with 255 50 17 tyres. The interior has been stripped prepared and sprayed, glass removed and Lexan windows fitted. New bucket seats and harnesses to be fitted next week. I got some quad headlights that i shall fit aswell and im having a alloy grill made at the moment alond with some bracket for the 6 spotlights on the front.
The engine is still standard and at 130k is not at its best so the idea was to build a 20 valve turbo from a 7A lump i have but thinking on i might just do some work on the 10 valve engine. Iv'e got about £1500 to spend on it, what would you recommend ?.
I looked at getting a charge cooler but there,s nowhere to mount it without putting the rad in the boot (i did think about it but decided its to difficult !) so then i looked at maybe porting the head and fitting larger valves with fast road cam, im after about 250 bhp just enough to make it quicker and still reliable...
