    Audi S2 project/restoration

well seeing as the road tax runs out at the end of the month i thought i'd get started.

i'm going to do all the engine work first so i started removing the bumper, intercooler, front panel, auxilliary rad etc.

not as easy to work on as my mk2 golf which is a shame

    some pics...

i'll put some more pics up when i get a bit more done.

done a bit more over the past week, engine and 'box is now removed (weighed a f*cking ton by the way)
next step is to strip down the engine and order all the replacement parts needed.

              a few pics...

Good luck on your restoration. Umm, could you post a picture of the exhaust side of the engine showing the oil return from the turbo to the oil pan extention?
                Thanks,Chris

Lol have not really heard many people who want to keep it standard, there's a few but most are modified in some ways.

i will be keeping the outside of the car more or less standard, but the engine/brakes/suspension will all be uprated

i was planning to buy one of the wagner sport quattro replica manifolds with the T3 flange, has anyone heard any more news about the release date yet?

The more you guys modify the more my standard one will be worth! Crack on!

Good luck with the resto, it looks like you have all the right gear to hand anyway.

                          cheers,

                          Steve.

                            cheers mate

yeah i know what you mean, it is nice to see a totally original S2 for a change as the majority of them are modified.

i will definately be keeping all the original parts incase i want to return the car back to standard because as you say,a standard S2 will probably be worth more in the future.

looks like you are progressing nicely - i so wish i had a similar area to work on the car - the driveway isn't ideal, especially in this climate

any chance of a close-up pic of the area of the crank seal / sprocket?

                              Cheers
