I know this place is a 20vt mostly site, but here is my V8q build.
I picked up a 90 V8q that had belonged to Ron W., a big MASS V8 nut, back in May and rebuilt the front end of the car that had been involved in a front end collision by the guy Ron sold the car to. The car has ~106-8k on the chassis (OD is busted since the speedo doesn't work), so it was worth saving, but then the craziness started.
I had wanted to build the car up and make it a 6-speed since I really hated the Automatic transmission and didn't think it could survive long with my aggressive shifting (in manual mode) long and well I can't find a decent factory 5-speed ever (all seem to get sold before I can come get them). So I ordered the mounts from the factory and had them shipped over to me so I am doing it with a factory set of mounts and a factory 6-speed Flywheel. Well that was all set to happen this spring when I get done with school.
About a month ago I got the largest deal I've ever gotten on a car. A Free 92 V8q with a 4.2L, now that is a deal. It gets better as this car has a rebuilt 4.2L with ported and polished heads, raised compression to ~11.5:1 and a rebuilt bottom end with gapless rings and arp rod bolts. The biggest problem was the car was ~2200 miles away from Minnesota (where I am), it was in LA, so I had to fly there with my dad and drive the semi mutilated shell back. The car had been hit in the passenger's side rear bending the trunk up really well, but it had left all the suspension intact and the rear window only with a small crack on the passenger's side lower corner. I picked the car up on Friday morning and had it back home late on Sunday with the engine almost broken in. I had picked the car up with only ~800 miles on the rebuild so the rings 5k mile break in is still not complete, but getting close.
The car also has all the normal 92 updates so I am going to pull all of the wiring from the 92 and integrate it into my 90 shell.
So the mods will be as follow:
Engine:
ABH code 4.2L Rebuilt as above
Reground 4.2L cams (custom to my specs)
Custom intake
3.6L headers with 2.5" collectors verse stock 2.2" also ceramic coated
