It was not covered with grease. You have got a lot of dust from somewhere, which adhered to anything, that was greasy. And in the engine bay, usually almost everything is...

Jesus...I should remove that before taking that picture.....
Actualy..is the horn. No place to fit somwere else fast and without mud splashes around. Sounds like an old, tired cow... but working.
Hmmm .. i think i should remove that from the new engine bay.. dont you think?
    Eagle eyes Acidburn!!
    Thanks for reply!
This is the line to folow then... not bothering too much with the location off the hall signal.
    Thanks!

The dizzy is ok to use as a hall effect sender, the ecu will do the actual advancing and retarding of the timing according to load. Once the reference signals have been received on start up the ecu will do the rest

I was reading about the hall senders and was thinking iff is any downside using the dizzy for the hall signal for my 3B to multicoil setup? I know that the first AAN had Dizzy for the hall signal but, except the space, there is something more involved in the changes made by Audi with the hall senzor mounting position?
Except the startup of the engine, hall signal has something to do with ignition advance during engine running, or for this the ecu use the CPS signal?
The idea is, I really need to move the hall sensor at the cam pulley or will be ok in the dizzy?
    Thank You!
    Regards!

    Hello!
Tring to get the best parts for my engine, i have dismantled 2 3B engines...
Both have the crankshaft noted as 034K...In my list...this one is for 1B, MC engines, the right one for 3B is 034S...
This is right? This means that both off my 3B engines have wrong crank?
I have another crank i dont know from what car is it...Noted 034 A ???
Can you tell me from what engine this is?
    What to do?
    Thank You!
    All the best!

Probably, for the remap i have to bring with me some Romaian fuel.... I am sure that Carrera rs from OMV in Romania is a medium one in UK.

Thought it was time I poked my nose in on this little project...
Looks like you have started finally..... any news on the piston wear yet? Did you source a new block, or get anything done?
I must say, that turbo does look especially nice....
Keep up the good work, but be careful how you fit the crankshaft seals, I have heard they are prone to falling out.....
I will bring you a bucket full of good petrol when I visit, so you will see how it works....

Dosin't exists the right word for that.....Fu........ed is close....The canal insight the block was stuck with oil residues and the rubbere tubes were gone...
The engine was running ok before....no oil consumtion also! Verry good engines!
Imagine that in that condition the compression was 11.5 bar at ALL cylinders...
    Impressive, not?
I will have alot off work to do with that...
