Yeah, that's what I had first time round. That section is now 2.5" tube so none of the lumps and bumps and then goes to 3" just after the wg enters. Wonder if the RS2 is different based on larger bore dp. Might be worth going V Band if you're getting it all done.

Just done some GTech runs to test the new exhaust (baseline readings mr. N ) Gear was 2nd and at a weight of 3750lbs (as I ran before) the car is gettting about 255whp average, had 2 in the high 250s, a 240 and a 280, this compares to 240whp average before off 8 runs. Need about 4 runs to agree with each other to be happy, problems arose with getting it to initiate when pulling away, I'm out of practive with the old GTech unit TBh. I will be doing more runs at another time when I have energy and a better stretch to try it on. Car is pulling hard to 6.5k and I'm pleased. Will have to see what I can gain with a few other tweaks like a 7A inlet cam and then get it on the rollers in the spring to ensure that all is well. As it stands I'm happy but that doesn't mean that I don't want a 2871

Andy - nice to see the new baseline appears to have been raised by the new zorst then...

You'll find the GTech RR to be MUCH more forgiving in tests - all you need is a 'normal' start, some short shifts into 4th (or whatever) at 2000rpm then a full range power run from there... The RR takes hp/torque measurements from the widest span of revs on each run - no stress on perfect launches for hp/torq analysis - leave that stress to the drag strip (and practise thereof).

Yeah. I think there's a small difference with teh new exhaust, it's not gone down. 3rd gear tests are a bit hairy.

Just gave this a thorough read through, can't wait to mod my airbox a mod!

They always say competition drives progress, so I'm joining the race to 300BHP. We'll have to meet up for a G-tech session

            What's the latest update Andy?

Biggest cahnges are the Pro Speed 3" DP with sports cat and single rear box and a new number plate There's also the 3B FW, a 7A inlet cam to go in and I'm waiting for Paul to finalise his next generation Homefries to reach for 300bhp. Work has been pretty stagnant on it for the last year due to continued illness but all those worries ebb away with a got WOT run through the gears or a rare jaunt down my favourite local roads on the way to/from Bristol. Shame that the adrenaline rush then gives me the shakes

Parts sat in the cupboard are a prop to be refurbished, a Recaro passenger side subframe waiting for a seat, some HnRs & 034 top mounts, some new DS2500s & discs up front, braided hoses, super DOT4 fluid and a few other toys. Wishlist is a Recaro Pole Position and a Wiechers Sport cage and some Poly & Ally bushes to finish it off for a few track days when I feel that the <3 YO rubber ones are feeling a bit tired.

With -100+kg and some toys it should be rather fast and of course very low lag on the k24

My approach to my car has always been twofold. Primary concern is value for money. I've tried to use as much existing hardware as possible and to look for ways to get more from the car whilst maybe using the parts that others don't think are worth using (and thus cheap), 7A inlet is a prime example, see the cam simulation thread. Secondly, I am building the car to handle a 3071 so all the parts I've fitted are with this in mind (400-450bhp). My final choice of turbo might differ but you understand my point. The only thing that I might let slip onto the car is a revised map based on this 300bhp mythical barrier on a k24'd S2.

I need to get some GPS measurements on it now that I have identified the air leak that I knew I had but didn't have the energy to find until recently, I detailed it on another thread but it was the IM to TB gasket, fitted when I did the HG, WP etc. in Nov '07.

Hopefully I and the car will be up for a RR session this year at Combe and I really hope that either it gets loads of torque or breaks 300bhp if not then it'll get thrashed on the track... oh hang on, that'll happen anyway :mischeif:

Ross, invite yourself down anytime, sorry I've not been up to helping with your project, you're only 20/40 miles away from my home(s). Be interesting to do some back to back testing on both cars on the same road with the same equipment. Ideally we're looking at a 35 to 65mph run in second with WOT from 20mph to delete turbo lag. Maybe, if I'm up to it later in the summer we should have a Bristol meet. Have to see how things progress.

The other thing I've been thinking about for over a year and not got round to is shedding (I hope) over 100kg from the car (lardy ABY) and as testing of removal of 110kg indicated, RS2s really better watch out as 0-60 on my old GTech was 4.85 average and that's real times, not book figures. All good fun, can't wait to get back on with this, it's had enough mental planning! This made such a difference that I can't wait. I'll be looking to remove all the tar sound deadening permanently and a few other changes too to help with the reduction...

Oh and good luck with 300bhp... but not THAT much luck

Ive just fitted an MTM ecu to the Coupe. Am really pleased with the extra performance. And can vouch for the Prospeed exhausts. ive just got a stanless turbo back, single pipe, single box system made up. The difference with that is amazing, pulls much harder higher revs.
My G-tech Pro is indicating an 18-20% gain over the old ECU (power figures were out as my weight was incorrect) as you know the standard engine (minus exhaust was running 249 bhp) so i think im pretty close to 300bhp now. Will try and do a 0-60 run, see how it compares.
I must admit i do love the low lag of the k24

Pictures as promised, sorry it took a while. Very hard to get a decent pic of the DP, I've tried quite a few times.

Exhaust still fits superbly a year on and the remedial work over the back axle had done it's job. I'd still like it louder but it's fine otherwise, never boomy.
