        To audi90rs2:

The topmounts need a little work to fit in front. The nut comes in conflict with the strut brace bracket. I had to get a spacer machined to get enough clearance.

I am very satisfied with them so far, but I have only driven them for a couple of months so I dont know how long they will last. However the bearings are standard SKF and easy to replace.

Yes it is about 75 grams

No the missing bolt is the locking bolt, and when I took the pictures I was going to take the wheel off again so I didnt bother fiddeling with the locking bolt

No, neither shall I, I also carry a torque wrench to check the bolts after each session. Poor car had been given a substantial thrashing up to that point (Bruenchen) due to that f'ing Jag

Sounds like a scary moment (and 75g was just a wild guess...)

I bought them through a friend with good contacs and I got a realy nice price.

Norway is a very expensive country and I think they cost aprox 3000usd over here. (and aprox 2600usd for standard H&R coilovers) You might get them cheaper if you order directly from H&R in germany (Norwegian currency is strong these days)

Last winter I replaced the weak 01A 5 speed tranny with a stronger 01E 6 speed tranny.

In addition to the gearbox itself I changed the front subframe, gearlinkage, and shortened the prop shaft 2,5cm. Subframe were sand blastet and have only one layer with primer in the pictures.

The bottom 2 pictures shows the left side gearbox mounting bracket difference between 5 and 6 speed subframe.

And here are some old pictures from the exhaust build. The system is 3,5" stainless steel grade AISI 304 and SS V-band clamps from Burns Stainless. I got help from a friend who is very skilled with the TIG welder to do the welding

My friend also did the welds on air intake and pressure piping, all the welds were "acid washed" as well

My oldest son, who was 1 year old at the picture, thought the TIG weld needed some adjustment

any more info on that MAF sensor modification pipe? What is the pipe diameter now and did you apply a remap after fitting this MAF enlargement?
