NM to AAN Coupè Quattro

Well guys, as most of you know I began the project of the AAN. Unfortunately it took too long and the 01E tranny must wait in my garage for a big while. The whole project is not done...I think it'll never be done at all hehe but the engine setup is almost ready. The first fire up is very near me, I'm only waiting the first salary and buy 5 new dry coils (one of the stock aan's melted so it's better to buy new ones) and a hall sensor I broke .

I think someone of you already watched my video on youtube. After 5 months of hard working ALONE on my Audi it is almost ready-to-go! I think the job is well done and I must to thank my friend Peter Nànàssy for all the help he gave me with the VEMS ECU... Thanks 4 everything Pete!!!

I'm attaching a few pics of how the work has been done, I know there are some things that I need to replace like that odd AlfaRo 164 2.5TD intercooler that is a lot small but will be replaced for a H2O-to-air IC as soon as I can spend that money.

I have some troubles with the braking system cuz I want to upgrade it ASAP, but I'll write another post later when the car is back on the roads again.

Whats the AAN?

The engine that was fitted in the UrS4 and UrS6's 2.2turbo with direct fire coils like the ADU from RS2, ABY from S2 but with different intake manifold design. The AAN is part of the big family of the 5zyl 20valve engines.

What would do with the 6 gang gearbox?? Are you gona change the old 5 ?
Az i know,the 6g is 2,5cm longer than the 5g...

exactly... is almost 3cm longer than the 5spd so it'll need to reduce the lenght from the first part of the drive shaft, then balance it and ready to mount (it's possible to mount the ABY-S2 driveshaft but it's impossible to find one over here, I know that the Typ85Q will fit with a little spacer but I can't get one of those in italy either)...

Well I guess the tranny will rest on my garage up to the day I have enough money, time, and a place to do the conversion from 5 to 6speed. In the meanwhile I'll stay with the 01A! I'll have tomorrow some pics of the water radiator position... ! cheers!

FInally my exhaust is 99% ready, it only need the working setup for the open/close valve. The wastegate is running individually and silenced too, downpipe is 67mm diameter, the rest is 73mm, and the secondary pipe is 55mm, everything hand made. It was a long job, done with an electric soldering machine...sounds weird but after using about 80 electrods...is done! Pics:

The AAN is alive but for a short time :S I have troubles with the vems, I have to adjust the ignition advance and fuel, dunno how the heck do I have to do... but well... I'll try to do something, here are a pair of vids:
