Bo - the locking wheelnut wasn't too bad to do once I drilled a pilot hole to follow with the 13mm drill. The clutch on the other hand was a pita and CV boots must rank amongst my least favorite jobs.

BTW - are you missing a small flatblade halfords screwdriver from the last garage meet? If so PM me your address and I'll mail it to you.

Got a bit of that to do myself now... just wait until the front brake lines get changed perhaps Considering putting braided hoses in there; currently they are braided from the strut to caliper - anyone replaced the section from the strut to the body? Looks like a PITA to remove the old ones so any BTDT would be nice (as well as a contact for the hoses!)

Was great to see and hear the video Ross - that ancient fuel in the tank really won't be helping, know what you are saying about not wanting to waste it all though - might be best to drain to halfway and top up perhaps - or even try chucking some octane booster in?
Haynes Manual:As described in Chapter 7...

Translation:That'll teach you not to read through before you start, now you are looking at scarey photos of the inside of a gearbox.

KaraK - the engine was missing occasionally when idling and agree the fuel really needs replacing. Ross - don't forget that new plugs are deff required...

Brilliant News Ross. Long live project recall.

Much respect to the those that don't own the car lending a hand too!

I look forward to see the ruby red monster at an event this year then...

                      Cheers,

                      Steve.

Sorry I didn't make it. I completely forgot about it, as I've been so busy trying to sort out my latest Ring toy.

                          Darn it

Sooo, super-glued up the tiny cut in the HT lead boot and bound it in insulation tape. Job's a good un, she fired into life and now idles smoothly

Decided to bring the engine up to working temp and all seemed grand until about 75deg when puffs of steam started to rise out of the engine bay. Unbolted the rad cowling, steam was getting a thicker, and I can see coolant seeping out of the radiator top where the metal and plastic join.

Why is it, you get one job done and another one crops up...

Last place I got a rad from was GSF @ £115+VAT, seems they're about £200 now anyone got ideas where to get one cheaper?
