Hi,looking for some help with my project, im fitting a complete aan engine and box in2 a type 85 coupe, have a 6 speed subframe fitted, wat i need 2 know is wat mountings will work on engine and transmission, both the aluminium and the rubber mountings, all help welcome,mayb there is a thread allready covering this, thanks in advance paul

s2 gearbox mounts and quattro engine mounts if i remember rightly

This conversion has probably been done most often in the States. Loads of threads can be found on

Do a search in project section.
Ehgine conversion is not too bad, but the gearbox is a bit more complicated (just about to embark on having it done to mine).
Engine mounts can be had from quattronics if you can get hold of them or otherwise from 034 Motorsport from the States.

engine conversion

Where could u possible source the aluminum brkts from,secondhand 1 b great, rubber mounts still avaliable, any ideas?

Normal 5 cylinder S2 engine mounts and I had 'made to measure' gearbox mounts manufactured to fit the standard Cq subframe, not a major job and had them made from stainless.
