well, i am in the process of making my second drag chassis. Coupe Quattro. the goals are >700 AWHP and low 10 sec 1/4 mile runs. a 9.xxx sec would be just the baddest *** thing i could do. and to be the first 9 sec Audi in the whole North America would just be killer.
anyways.... i did this work to the front end over this weekend. needed to make some room for the big *** turbo on pass side, and the fuel cell and related on the driver side.
i have a full build post on Motorgeek, but thought to share some of this work with you guys over on your side of the pond. my thought is that anything forward of the motor mounts is for headlight and bumper support, and to protect in case of emergency. well, i do not need any of that. if i have an emergency, at >140+ MPH, i have other things to worry about... so i cut it all out, and made my own front end supports.
the full NHRA spec roll cage goes in this week.... i should have time to do the whole thing anyways.
here are a couple pix of my progress. i still have to make tabs for the lower fender, and the front bumper. also make a crossbar for the upper core support. but its about 70% complete for the front section anyhow.
