Part II (weight reduction) is on hold for the mo so it's time to focus on the next stage.
Stage III will consist of an improvement of engine and chassis to further facilitate 400bhp. Intake and exhaust mods are complete as part of stage I.
Chassis wise this will involve alloy subframe bushes, uprated wishbone bushes, 034 top mounts, HnR springs, some braided hoses and new super dot4 fluid for the brakes and a refurbished prop shaft.
Engine wise, it's a full rebuild with new rods to make it safe, new rings, mains and shells, full balance, 2-3kg removed from the 3B flywheel, a 400+ftlbs clutch, ideally Sachs and if funds allow then a fowed head will join the party.
The ECU will also be receiving one of Pauls upgrade streams to complete the party.
Other things that might make it onto the list are an exhaust butterfly valve and reverse intake but these aren't that likely at the mo.
This will all be in preparation for stave IV which is 400bhp (could aso be called Stage CD or Stage CCCC). Currently thinking CT350, 28 or 3071 or an oldskool kkk 27/29 if I'm a bit short. Combined with a Wagner EM, 044 fuel pump and suitable injectors it'll be time for satge V, bodywork.
Timescales for all of this... stage I took about 5 years
so who knows. I really like the S2 at the mo and driving other cars makes me like it more so that's good. I'd hope to have stages II and III complete ready for track season 2010.
There also a stage 0, driver preparation. Hopefully I'll be fixed and have been through a full tune up by then too
