Some beautiful work going on there but why the use of short lifespan Alu rods? Would titanium not be a better long term option?

yes thats right. We made it from wood first, then cast it from alu alloy.
it holds 25 tonns or more when we test it

it was half the price and time,
the manufacturer told me it may go for a few 1000 miles, depending on use...

anyway first i thought to use it only for drags, but i changed
                  my mind later....
i don't know anybody used alu rods for i5 engine, hope
i'll be the first to test......

from experience with V8 drag cars we bin them after 1000miles. But then again that is a lifetime as they are literally being used 1/4mile at a time and not driven on the road.
Be interesting to see how long they last in a non quartermile situation as no one to my knowledge has gone down that route.

yes. we can make as much as you need. i check for the price
but it is not so expensive, but you have to machine it to your need.
it is only usable with porche 4 pot type brake calipper (like rs2 big) and
                        double A arm (no mcperson!!!)

how do you know it has to be replaced?
just by the milage, or some bad noise from piston hittig the head...

^^^ ended up doing it by mileage as first time round the engine started missing slightly at idle and under load. Then you pull it appart to find that one or two of the rods are approx 1mm shorter in length where they have bend slightly. similar to what a stock rod would do with poorly atomised water injection or a diesel that's driven through a puddle and hydrolocked ever so slightly. Will carry on running just not quite right.

i thought it would rather stretch then bend like original audi rod over it's possibility....
                              thanks
