I think the brakes are a kit developed by Tim of Renntech. They measure 315x28 with 4 pot calipers. I think they also did a 330x28 as well. They do them for 4 and 5 stud hub's as it's just a change of bell.

I'll be fitting a 5 stud conversion due to it being a track car.
I have located some uprated CV's and Titanium drive shafts. With any luck, they should hit customs in a couple of weeks.
I'll post pics as soon as I get my sticky little fingers on them.

I only charge £25 for class IV's at the moment as well, so even more of a reason!

Finally got the 90 into the main workshop this week.
I've started to pull it to bits and form a bit of a battle plan.

As some of you may know, one of my friends is Tim Cooper from RT Sport and he is a very bad influence to all things Audi......
I popped into his Workshop for a chat and left with a very pleasant bit of carbon to nail to the 90.
Originally from his S2 when it was being Hillclimbed, the box mounts to the chassis where the rad used to live. It runs twin filters and was capable of supplying a 900BHP motor, so should be fine for the spec I plan to run.

          Enjoy the pics.

          Removable filter mount.

          Filter mount detail.

MAF mounts directly in the inlet tube before the turbo.

Just started to strip it really. I've spent a lot time measuring up and deciding what is going where etc whilst fitting it in around the other projects in the workshop.

As it's a sunroof shell, I'm looking into the possibility of cutting the centre out of the roof and replacing it with a carbon panel. That way I loose the hole and the carrier box underneath, giving me more headroom as the cage can sit higher. I've got to check it's legality with the scrutineers, but fingers crossed.

              These finally cleared customs today:

Super Touring spec Koni Dampers with Titanium Bodies. I'm in love! They are very light!

Not a vey good photo, but you can see they are slightly shorter so I can get the car lower.

I'm having some carriers and clamps made to suit the standard hub units. They will have a built in steering arm so I can level out the track rods and stop the bump steer the car has at the moment.

There are more bits on the way. I'll post pics as stuff land's.

              Paul.

this is looking like a nice project, i like idea a rs2 saloon

however the re drilling those wheels looks scary and the exhaust design leaves lots to be imagined, i wonder if be sensible to strip all the works been done and make sure its worthy

Exactly right! Those wheels are terrible!
I need a change of wheel anyway as the brakes will need an 18" rim for clearance so those nasty, cheap and heavy rims will be history.

I can't decide what to do with the exhaust as yet. I could mod the sill and have it exit out the side or mod the boot floor and have it exit out the back as standard??? The jury is out at the moment. I'll probably make my mind up when I've made and welded in the rollcage.

And yes the car is getting a bare shell nut and bolt rebuild, so everything will be stripped inpected and rebuilt/modified/replaced.

                    Paul.

great project - you've found some very exotic parts there

Are you going to adapt the lower arm / subframe / ball joint to allow the car to run so low and still maintaining good geometry?

I can get my hands on a pair of Super Touring bottom arms to copy the dimensions(Not for sale unfortunately). I was going to rose joint the arms anyway, but due to the radical change in ride height I need to make new arms as the standard bottom ball joint would almost be binding at full comression and thats not a good thing!
I'll probably just make a set of adjustable rose jointed tube arms front and rear as it's the chapest and most simple thing to do. I make lots of tube suspension components for off road cars as part of my job, so it should be fairly simple.
I'm tempeted to make new braced subframes as well as mine are fairly rusty???

subframes are pretty solid normally only surface rust really, they come up good when you blast them - if you stick with them I'd definately seam weld them - they do weigh a lot though, possibly too much for your project
If you made a jig for the tubular lower arms, i'm sure there would be some interest from other forum members for some if you had the time / inclination to do more than your own

So you noticed I like my cars to go on a weight loss plan then? !!

Irony is, I'm 6'1" and 17 stone, so I'm the one who needs the weight loss!

A jig is possible as we use them for our off road components. I didn't think there would be much of a market for such a track orientated products though?

                            Paul.

                              He he
Well I'd hazard a guess some arms to allow castor adjustment and height increase at the ball joint mounts if possible to raise roll centre would probably be of interest to a lot of people as these are two main issues with the cars as "standard" - no caster adjstment and mucked up geometry if you go much lower than stock

Raising the roll centre definately makes a good difference to the handling I can vouch for that . Less roll, more grip, it's all good.
