    ABY to RS2+

    Hi all!

I am pleased to present my project at the forum.

It is an Audi S2 ABY, which you have made the following improvements:

    - Turbo RS2
    - RS2 Injectors
    - RS2 FPR
    - Bosch 044 fuel pump and new fuel filter
    - RS2 ECU
    - RS2 exhaust cam and cam pulley
    - Wagner exhaust manifold
    - Wagner reverse intake manifold
    - Wagner intercooler
    - New Oxygen sensor
    - New bosch spark plugs
    - New RS2 MAF
    - Full 3 "SS exhaust

I do not think I forget anything else.

    Stock dyno run (S2 ABY):

    2nd dyno run (Project finished):

I was waiting much more power from the second dyno run!
The dyno seems to a stock RS2, without 3" downpipe and exhaust, and wagner IM, IC, and EM!

Do you think that there are any fault in the car?

    Thanks!

313HP on the 2nd graph, is that at the wheels or the flywheel; what sort of boost are you running?

Are HP at the flywheel! Im running stock boost and stock RS2 ECU. About 1'5bar at max boost.

Hi MarT2, congratulations for the car.
I think that your results on the dyno are the supposed ones. You are running a stock RS2 ECU which means that it won't let the turbo blow higher. The Wagner reverse inlet manifold should reduce turbolag but it won't give you that much more performance. And if you consider that you are running a bigger intercooler than the stock RS2 one, I think that one thing compensates the other, as a bigger intercooler needs more time to be filled. This bigger intercooler could increase your performance, but as you are running stock mapping it won't affect that much (as I once read from Paul, the ECU corrects the boost profine according to the temperature, gives more or less bost to compensate it). You also have to consider that the RS2 intercooler is also quite big.
In fact, I think that your results are very good and you should be happy with the car. David's RS2 results, running the stock mapping, on the same dyno have been 7hp and 14Nm lower than yours, even running a hybrid turbo.
I think that you will get the best of your setup if you remap the car.
Cheers and contratulations. Your car is how I would like mine to be.

I think that the top screw of the wastegate is a little tightened (about 4 wheels). Could be the problem?

Those results are low to what i've seen, A stock RS2 with a 3" downpipe and exhaust will push around 350 but then if dyno is reading consistently for the other RS2's maybe it's a dyno thing.

Dyno's are only a guide they vary sooo much they can mislead.

You really need too buy the MRC or Homefry RS2 highboost chips and MAP sensor that take you 1.9 bar and circa 380-390 bhp

turbo drops off very early. maybe try holding boost longer. also that dip at 4k is hurting the graph.

good proof here though that the stock turbos dont hold on to 6k if the rs2 doesn't.

need to try to get it to hold that torque curve flat from the 3500 its at to 5500 or there abouts then tail it off. you would have a flyer then

And how can I hold the torque flat from 3500 to 5500rpm? Think that I have a stock RS2 ECU!

You need a remap or you ecu updating.

You can't install all the stock RS2 parts with reverse inlet and get the best out of it without this.

yes indeed. you have the hardware, and you need the software. If your ECU is previously untouched then you also need to send it to someone to make it able to get changeable eproms as well.It wont be just a case of ordering eproms from Paul or MRC.

But this dyno run is normal for any stock RS2? Or is rare?

Jamo says that stock RS2 with 3" downpipe and exhaust are about 350bhp!

Is normal in a stock rs2 that torque curve flat from the 3500 to 5500?

Anybody can post a stock RS2 dyno run?

                          Thanks

im not sure. just pointing out how to get the most from your money. stock or standalone changes are needed.

do you have an air/fuel graph from the run. im sure you can get a chip written if A) the tuner knows what you have now. B) you provide the AF results of the run. i used to test a few chips for SNStuning on the G60. thats how i did it. i used a wideband and told them where to cut fuel. a chip was sent, i fitted it, tested it and returned the previous chips.

more area under the curve is your friend. such a big drop off must feel like its over before its begun.

maybe the wagner stuff is a little too good on the flow for peak rs2 performance too?

Sal_S2 and S2avant at the RR days I ran for the forum both had 350 from stock RS2 chipsets with full 3" downpipes and exhaust systems.
