    Feeler: S2forum Track car

I thought it would be cool if we could put together an S2forum track car.

Something that represents the forum, has input form lots of the members and is bought out to play at events like ADI and Inters.

It could also have logos from our forum sponsors and they could if they like donate parts or help towards the upkeep.

There is of course a lot of details to discus first including if it should be a Coupe or an Avant.

Then we would need to work out founding and a place for it to be worked on etc etc.

I think it could be quite a fun project and would give the forum a bit of a boost in enthusiasm.
Members could donate parts, it could be striped out and turned in to a proper track whore!

This is just a feeler to see what everyone thinks about it.

So post you thoughts and suggestions here..

    Cheers.

Cool idea Would take some organising though.

    I vote for a saloon

Perhaps something modest using an RS2 setup with parts donated by various forum sponsors, or perhaps a nice CT355 and full Wagner kit

Yeah I agree, i think the option of making it lightweight but no to much hp i.e. ~400 would be better and cheaper.
Saloon would be cool, and even more unique..

Although i think an avant would also make more of an impression then a coupe.

Yeah, me too. I have to say that a saloon recreation would be something that I'd love to see but I'm not sure that it's the way forwards. Also, avants are cheaper at the moment.

              OH, dont start it!

sounds like an good idea for both forum members in UK and also to get some more Attraction against the forum

if it will be an avant, i could fix Avant GFB parts for silly money just covering the costs for buying the parts, make them for free

I think that another handsome coupe track car is would be overkill, afterall there are half a dozen I can think of currently on the go.

Sedan/avant is a nice idea. Avant supertouring

Hmm great idea, can't see how it's going to work without involving the forum sponsors for some major donations or cost parts for return on major advertising on the car which could work for all parites.

It it was a track car to remove the mot etc then transporting it to events is going to have to be thought about as well and storage would also need consideration.

It couldn't be mental something quick but not to exotic that it required engine work IMO.

                      Holset the fecking thing

Perhaps keep the engine stock with just bolt on tuning parts, we all know that big turbos give big power but a fully sorted k24-7000 could be a cost effective and highly useable toy, another projekt 300 to keep up with me, Ross, RE2500 and a few others.

Another option would be a concours queen, a fully restored car with subtle mods.

I think it would have to be owned by someone and be road legal to enable it to be taken to shows. A red tape nightmare really but still a cool idea.

I was looking for another car but I don't think I need 2 stripped out Audis just yet, let alone having the energy to work on one.

Not really, MOT is pretty leanient comaprted to TUV etc.

Would have to be easily moved around the country for shows and track days, means that having it road legal is a better idea than a trailor IMHO.
