Small Update.... Box arrived whilst I was away at uni last week. Berg Cup arches here! Done some test alignment and it appears I am limited to 8J rear wheels with an offset of ET12-20. Will get hunting for wheels but I have considered shortening the driveshafts (or getting new shafts manufactured shorter) by 30mm to allow 9J rear wheels. Anyway top bearings also arrived, measured and can now get the top mount kits made up by Bambridge so I can check adjustability is ok. Pics of arches....

And a 14" 6J ET45 ronal fitted to get an idea of offset capabilities etc. Actually considered just running it on these without the arches

Finally got some pics of recent work from the digi cam. Bit of everything really, the front slam panel mountings, lightening the inner front arches to save weight and checking the fitment of the archs...

Jay's just taken a job with a very cool motor sports company, I think progress may have slowed but I know he's up to no good on the design front!

No more updates than on this thread, spoke to Puglife the other week progress has slowed because of job and logistics but then it is a long term project

Wow it has been a while since I was last on this thread. There is progress but as mentioned I am working around the WRC rounds and living 170miles from the car so finding time is hard. That said I do have alot of new component designs that will be pushing it further as an asphalt sprint/race car.

Currently still no cage in the old girl but the spaceframe tubing has been sent for bending and by chrimbo I may have the full frame or at least majority of it, built up. Suspension pickup points are off to be lasercut and folded. Designing the pedalbox and suspension links, considering a multilink rear setup (influenced somewhat by my day job!) but also due to the space I have to work with.

Will try add some of the floorframe and current layout photos to this thread.

Phoning around today about lasercutting my top mount plates, done the CADs for them but just wanna find a good price for two fronts and two rears.

Anybody do laser or waterjet cutting on the forum who can do 4mm steel plate?

                    Cheers

Proper cool project, just realised who you are too.

Nice one on the job at Msport, seen some recent pics of the Fiesta from there and that is some serious stuff going on in those engines.

I found the IC Rad setup very interesting, not something that would work well on all cars but I can see why there would be such large gains doing it that way.

They are quite complex but most of it is electronics. The charge system and exhaust side are fairly interesting too. Sadly I'm under confidentially contract.....
Its all weight and weight distribution, as said though most cars dont have the space for the setup (especially quattros!) but I will be running a similar setup in the golf with the engine so far back.

Wab - If I send you the relevent drawings could you give us a quote for cutting and folding of a few smaller pieces? Low volume mind...
