RS2 turbo is better than a K26/K27 dont talk crazy about changing it!

So will the rs2 turbo to a remap and spool quicker, you'd be insane to swap and not get a MRC high boost chip instead

Your not gaining bhp and losing mid range and spool, it's not a good investment.

I've had a hybrid K26/k27 and it's ok but not better than an Rs2

my small frame k26/27 hybrids out perform any standard rs2 unit can't comment on turbos supplied by others

Nips graph was good but still not as good as a sorted rs2 imo

bhp gain was maybe 10 over rs2 now justify that against the cost of purchase and chipset.

It really is not a cost effective solution for a car already with an rs2 turbo

Nips dyno would have been better on rs2 cams and good fuel.

I have a k26/27 on my own rs2 now and would love to put next to rs2 running mrc 1.9 bar with standard rs2 turbo. if there's any body out there

The k24 7200 is an very good turbo and I would never advice anybody to change a healthy rs turbo for a k26/27 for that matter I would advise against using a Gt3071 as an upgrade.

I mapped a 2.2T with K26/K27 on Sunday and the turbo spooled fast. In second gear, boost came on at 2800-3000 rpm and full boost (1.7 bar for that car) at 3500 rpm...
I have not mapped a car with a RS2 turbo yet, but I liked the k26/k27.

Instead of chips I recommend a remap.
Btw, with some random RS2 chips the K26/K27 overshot boost a lot... I had to remap the N75 table so I could have stable 1.7 in all gears and 1.55 at redline.

I think this is because the RS2 turbo has to work harder and more N75 duty cycle is needed in comparison to the K26/K27, where the compressor is larger. I would advise against using a K26/K27 with RS2 chips. If the chips are mapped to ramp up boost as aggressively as possible, then you might overshoot boost in 4th and 5th gear.

i always thought Gt3071 was the next step up on Rs2 turbo.

what, is Gt3071 not a good upgrade anymore?

rocco,2.5bar is just plane madness.that turbo probably go up in smoke in no time
