Cheers Bo. Actually finding bolts was not so easy as of course being a Garret they're not metric, luckily I had some Imperial stuff at work and found the right ones, 5/16ths coase thread

Went to Swindon to see Acidburn last night and drop off some seats, then over to see Bry from Classic Audi to pick up a roof section for the Ur quattro. Driving over there with Pete (and trying to show off a bit ) I was thinking the car didn't feel so quick and I could hear a lot of turbo noise, no boost cut though so probably not a leak I thought. So today I thouight I'd give it a quick pressure test anyway. Hooked up the airline and it wouldn't hold any pressure at all! Turns out I had 2 bolts missing from the turbo coldside cover and the rest were loose On the Garret the bolt holes go right through so effectively 2 x 8mm holes in the compressor and the cover not seated fully so leaking too. Anyway, got that tightened up and tested again and found a big leak under the ISV, the small 90deg hose wasn't tight on the manifold So I cant work out why I wasn't getting boost cut, unless the holes in the compressor were sucking in air and the ISV hole was letting it out again and kind of balancing things out. I did notice on the way home that the car seemed to go better at part throttle than at WOT..
Anyway it's running really nice again now

I dont want to think what would have happened if the cover had got enough out of whack for the compressor wheel to touch :eek2:

C'mon John, get a pic up of the tailpipe....

Mine is too boomy (one tiny rear silencer only in whole system) so need to sort something out and was thinking single oval instead of twin.....

When Mihnea tuned the car he said I should change to a 710n, I think because the piston type valve is slower in operation and more prone to leaking, anyway I'd been meaning to do it for a while and finally got round to it. Can't say I've noticed any difference but the car certainly feels strong.

    DV swap

What was your reason for swapping the Forge for VAG?

Having sorted the phantom current drain, interior is now re-established

Changed the Forge DV for a 710N. Took it for a thrash

Exhaust is leaking from the flexi at the bottom of the 034 DP which will need to come off to fix it. As I've always thought the 034 system was a bit loud I've got another system which I bought from Keith which was on his ABY (ex Steviyid) which has a bigger more stock looking back box but I was hoping to use the 034DP and make one system out of the 2. (and hopefully have a system left over to sell)

I know that feeling, its a good one
The decent deadening & luxury liner definitely makes a difference to the comfort in the car, which I personally think is an important part of what these motors are all about
