Picked up a rear quarter from Madwolf the other day so it's time to start some work on the car.
    The list so far is:
Cut out off side rear wheel arch where it was repaired badly some time long ago and weld in new arch.
    Repaint rear quarter.
Fit refurbished rear subframe with all new bushes to cure "steering from the back" sensation.
Check front subframe and decide if it needs doing too.
Re-pin ECU and add wires and convert to coilpacks, I have some trepidation about doing this
    Get it re-mapped .... again!

Very nice John, i encountered the same problem fitting your 3b seats to a cabrio. After all these years i never noticed the lever switched sides on later cars. I did it a different way, i didnt have any material to knock up a mount for the back support at home so i made 2 brackets at work to switch the locking pin to the other side of the centre mount on the car floor.
Seen a few 3b's with RS2 seats fitted over the years but couldn't find and mention of a solution on the forum. One to remember for 3B owners looking for RS2 Recaro's.

So I got dome new seats for the old girl as the BM Recaros were sagging and really in need of a refurb. So here they are, bought from Clive, collected by Acidburn from Banbury and delivered here to sunny Dorking by Madwolf.. Thanks Guys!

First job was to swap the release mech's over as the 3B has the handles near the tunnel. I was wondering how I was going to make a hanger for the back point but when I pulled the covering back on the first seat look what I found lurking there!

So that one went pretty easy, just had to bend the metal tab into the correct position to pick up the rear pivot of the lever and all was well. The front points are pre drilled for left or right levers so just swap over.

No such luck with the other seat though, which was a disappointment, so I had to make up a bracket, here it is.

I really like the seats but I'm missing the extra headroom I had with the Recaros so I'll have to pull the driver's seat out and see if I can get it to adjust a bit lower, either that or it's the clippers and a No1!

Have to say these seats really are in amazing condition

I've got a pair of subframes in red primer in the garage, full polybush project is next Maybe some KWs?

Needs a bit of bodywork and paint, the off side rear arch has a dodgy repair which is swelling up

Pete reckons I shoud stop messing around and fit a proper big turbo

    Seats recovered, or Clive's..

ABY ECU, HO coils and pin swap?

    Pair of RS2 cams?
    Small spacer might help.

Kw's and polybush would sort it right out.

I've not forgotten about the arch and will have one for you soon.

I'll be interested in your old one when you upgrade

don't bother with the rs2 cam's stick with stock tbh.

Wow the car is looking great mate
The Audi designers really got it right with the Avus I think... just a shame they didn't come with the D2 versions as standard.

You're a brave man letting the mad mutt loose on your coupe
What's planned next for it then?
