    Dyno RS2 comp 458 AR :63 3B

Dyno 1.6 bar only, Issues with surge hoping for more like 2.2 2.5 bar 550 + and 600 + nm

Going to try Bram screamer pipe set-up to free up the exhaust, if not maybe the bigger hotside

Or, I am using a rs4 supersprint exhaust system, that could be giving to much back pressure so will I go changing bits till I get rid of the surge

common people, its easy, just carefully look at the sheet. 4 th gear for sure. and full boost at around 4k

how can you tell that ?

ok 4th gear it is because of the speed, but full boost?

Weird dyno plot against speed and not rpm, I wouldn't find that useful for tuning my ecu

also, 50hp losses seems way too small as well

Being a Cartec dyno the actual run is done vs speed and then the operator has to switch the graph to vs rpm. It basically does this as it calculates transmission losses through coast down. Comparing how long it took to get to full speed vs how long it took to slow down to standstill.

This meant that when I ran 235 wide tires with wheel spin I made 25-30ps more than running 255 tires with no wheel spin at the wheels but identical measured engine power. Hence the potentially low transmission losses.

As for the surge this is common on these engines with bigger turbo's if either they are running stock cam configuration or have had no headwork. As the efficiency in spool up of modern day turbo means you automatically end up with surge as the turbo's flow exceeds the engine intake at a given rpm.

11.9% drivetrain loss is too low. Compare this to numbers from a MAHA dyno that produce drivetrain losses that are ridiculous in the other direction. Javad's 80 pulled about 390whp on a MAHA and that was corrected to 620hp crank. Give me a Mustang or Rototest dyno any day. They will let you know what the car actually produces at the contact point (tire and hub respectively) without any tricks or magic attempting to produce a crank number.

390whp corrected to 620 crank and they wonder why people can be sceptical of US dyno figures

is there a way to port the head to increase spool rather than delay it?

                      Here is a link:
Hi I have just purchased a 1C ecu and am currently planning my loom. I already have a pair of MSD 8224 coils, my question is how do they wire up? They have just 2 plugs on them (i think), but I have no idea how to connect these up. I had imagined there to be 3 ( ve gnd and trigger), but...

Note that this is on a German MAHA dyno. In the US, Dynojets and Mustangs are the most common. Dynojet overstates whp, but a properly calibrated Mustang will yield real wheel horsepower, ie, what the car will put down when driven on the road, not more (unlike Dynojet, Dastek, etc) and and not less (like MAHA and Dyno Dynamics)

Espen, what would you consider the proper scale to graph on a Dynojet plot then? there are many choices... Uncorrected, SEA, DIN, EEC, STD, JIS?

                        here is mine for example
                        in Uncorrected it was 621.24 / 437.79
                        in SAE it was 599.13 / 422.21
                        in DIN it was 617.58 / 435.21
                        in EEC 598.82 / 422.00
                        in STD it was 616.62 / 434.54
                        in JIS it was 600.67 / 423.30

this was @ 8600 and 2.3BAR (330 kpa on the log) for my 4cyl 20vT, in 3rd gear.

just wondering, as i read soooo many people throw the terms around that this dyno is wrong, that dyno is wrong, etc. Mustang over DynoJet, DynoDynamics over Mustang, etc. i have tuned on Mustang, DynoJet, and DynoDynamics.

hell, here in USA Florida has the HIGHEST DYNOS AROUND! averaging an extra 40+ WHP! haha.

                        just wondering. thanks.

Yes 4th, we were getting 1.2 bar by 3200

dont take it very serious, but all europeans know the "american horses" ,when the cars with same setups make 10% more power if they are made in USA if in europe the turbo is rated 550 hp, in usa people rate it 550 whp please dont take it as insult, but during the years, you can see the tendency of this and lets come back to the topic...
