If the ports are too big the air speed is too slow and it kills the spool

Yes, but as I wrote in the last post: no need for much larger ports in the I5 20V
Most of the porting is done in the turn and in the valve seat area. Combined with good valves and seats you get more flow with same air speed=better spool

Done this?Once mapped up on the Dyno Dynamics we are taking a roadtrip upto MRC to run the car up on a cartec for comparison. After which we are driving to Manchester to put the car on a Dynojet. This way we can have a look how the figures compare between the various dyno's with respect to whp and calculated flywheel.

^^^ not yet, as we've so far got 2 smashed gearbox's 2 twisted custom uprated driveshafts and 2 sheared cv's.
We've temporarily put another stock 02M box in to keep the car on the road whilst he saves up for a dog box, the owner took delivery this week of £2k's worth of custom chrome moly shafts, hubs and cv's for the front which are being fitted as we speak. Once we know that we have some reliability on the drivetrain we will go and do the comparison run.
We'll see if the drivetrain holds at Gti International this weekend as that will be the deciding factor as to whether to finish mapping before the dog box has been saved up for.UrS6 Stroker + HTA3586 =
