and we went to the other track to make some passes. they limited me to 10.00 and/or 135>.
and i weighed the car, 2600 lbs no driver.... 2840 lbs with driver. 1560 lbs front half, 1040 lbs rear half. car has 900 lb rear springs and 650 lb front springs, on basic Bilstein HD's.
and it goes 0-60 in 2.45 seconds.....
i went 10.6 @ 121, just running thru third gear and coasting to finish. its about 1/4 track, a good 3+ full seconds of coasting.
i went 10.8 @ 117, again running 3rd but i bogged the launch.
i went 12.0 @ 125, running 3rd gear, but all of 1st and 2nd was tire spin.
then my friend who gave me the 6 speed trans took a pass.... funny thing; he was wearing shorts, and you have to have pants. we swapped in the trailer, and off he goes. its our last pass as its Friday Night drags, and we dont have lights. i tell him do it to it, whatever you want to do. this is, by the way, his FIRST TIME EVER driving the car on the track. he drove it up and down my street a couple times after we swapped in the trans. first gear only....
he clicks off a 1.594 60' time (mine was 1.591 this night) and pulls 4 gears, runs 10.24 @ 137.xx and we get booted from this track as well. he also has a higher 1/8th mile trap of 112mph, too. but not only do we get booted, they wrote a letter to the NHRA and my car cant run on ANY TRACK until the cage is inspected. ok, it was one of the goals anyways.... and it was fun.
take the car to get looked at, all is well except the supply yard gave me an undersized tube, and 3 bars were not up to code (thickness). so i had to cut them out and replace them. thats all done, waiting for re-inspect. then the chassis is certified to 8.50 seconds.
i have to get a full SFI 3.2A/5 firesuit, neck collar, window net, trans blanket, i have everything else already. i get a physical, do the 6 license passes ( 2 x 330' and lift, 2 x 1/8th mile and lift, 2 x full pulls >135 ) and i am good to go. gonna shoot for a 9 sec on the first of the full pulls.
parachute it SEEMS is only >150 mph..... but it will look cool on the car nonetheless.
and it will see 9 sec passes VERY SOON!!!
