    UR restoration

First of it time to sort my poor UR.

I've had it eighteen years this January! Done at least 150.000 miles in it. Been skiing in it twice to the alps and south of France in summer on hols once. All great drives.

So plan is to give it a full sorting body wise. Engine out to repaint everything. Mechanicals are are all spot on and don't need a thing.

When its done i'll be selling it. Sad but need another estate and have a stuffed B5 RS4 to take its place.
When I got it, pearl white was the aweful colour. It had been painted five times and was only six years old! So I then painted it and remember its along time ago... Dakar yellow. It looked rather good and stayed that colour for the next five years when I gave it a full bare metal repaint in Ming blue which is what it is at the moment.

What colour should I paint it next? I want a popular choise as it has to be sold on completion.
    I fancy Titan grey...

I'll be posting up the pics as I go...

Good luck with this, looking forward to the thread - and photos. Is it just paint or is there any bodywork to do?

Aesome, Looking forward to watching this progress. Are you going back to bare metal Rob?

I think either back to pearl white or panthero black Rob, both OE colours and look the ********

To be honest, I think the Ming blue looks great.

it looks nice as is, but repaint in Daytona would be the shizzle.

                            Thanks for the replys fellas!

Lots of corrosion work to do, n/s A post has just about dissapeared! n/s floor is rather holy!
Might replace the roof skin as its cracked from the sun roof to B post.
N/S front wing needs a alot of replacement metal. Usual rear wing to light panel rot.
Done both sills a couple of years ago.
I have a doner coupe for cutting the panels It needs. Saves a load of time fabricating!
Glass will be all out, probobly won't bare metal it again as I know whats under there! Just flat it back to the primer.

Not thought about black but quite like the idea!
Got to remember they are funny folk that buy URs "origional" is what most want but I will put the tiny wheels back on and will skin the fibreglass sport bonnet in aluminium as it grows lumps and bumps from the engine heat!
Not changing all the mods as Its just so much better than how it used to be! Anyone driving it will be blow away how much better it is than an "original"!
                            Rob..
